client:
The Fayetteville Area Economic Development Corporation (FAEDC), an organization
responsible for attracting new business and industry to the area and
fostering greater economic development.
Our mission: Develop materials for a CEO weekend
planned by FAEDC during the Festival of Flight (11-day event held in
Fayetteville for the 100th anniversary of the Wright Brothers
first flight). The weekend was designed to generate interest among top
executives who might be interested in relocating or expanding their business
in the Fayetteville area. It included a VIP tour of Festival of Flight
events, golf at the renowned Pinehurst 2 course and a presentation
on the advantages Fayetteville offers as a business location.
Our solution: Using the theme History, Heroes &
18 Hallowed Holes (which plays on the Fayetteville areas
theme,
History, Heroes & A Hometown Feeling), we developed promotional
materials for the weekend event. They included a teaser invitation,
followed by a full invitation package with details of the weekend and
further information on the Fayetteville area. Our materials had to be
attention-getting and persuasive, as they were vying for the attention
(and time) of busy executives bombarded continuously, no
doubt, with offers and information.
The results: Executives representing companies in 11 states
– from Massachusetts to California – visited the Fayetteville
area. Several of these business leaders indicated that they would seriously
consider the area for future relocation, and two began actively looking
at Fayetteville. (These materials also captured Best of Show in the Special
Events category at the Southern Economic Development Council’s
marketing competition.)
