The Hodges’ associates are experienced in every aspect of marketing, advertising and public relations. They’re flexible and friendly. They have “life experiences” that help them view their work from the perspective of what each client is looking to accomplish. And they’re ready to put their expertise to work for you – and show you what true dedication to client satisfaction means.

Jean Hodges, Founder

When Jean moved to the Fayetteville area (Raeford) in 1974, she did so with the intention of pursuing her marketing and advertising career. She soon realized there were no existing agencies “in town” dedicated to this business. So she decided to start her own. Jean remained as CEO of her still-thriving business, Hodges Associates, until her death in August 2015. Throughout the years, Jean set the tone and served as a role model for the standards of professional excellence, the commitment to remain on the leading edge of the business, and the unwavering client service that Hodges Associates continues to be known for.

Remembering Jean

Anna Hodges Smith, President/Account Executive

When Anna took the agency’s reins from her mother – a.k.a. founder Jean Hodges – she  already had  decades of experience. Through her days of filing and running errands after school to the time she  “officially” joined the team (in 1984) and beyond, Anna learned  every facet of the agency’s operations.  From the ground up! This stands her in great stead today as President of Hodges Associates. In  addition to overseeing all of the agency’s  operations, she’s still devoted to doing what she loves best…  turning creative concepts and marketing strategies into bottom-line results for her clients. Anna’s  passion for client satisfaction is rooted in her love for the advertising profession. She’s served in  leadership roles with the local, regional and national organizations of the American  Advertising Federation (AAF). And, she was awarded the AAF Silver Medal, in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the advertising industry, creative excellence and social responsibility. Among her many and diverse community service contributions, Anna has been (and continues to be) a strong supporter of the arts. This includes serving as a past president and long-time member of the local Arts Council Board.

Chuck Smith, Vice President/Production Manager

DSC_0060CHUCK He’s not just Vice President of the agency, he’s VP of thinking outside the box. Chuck wears many hats  at Hodges – and many faces. With a degree in theatre arts, he’s often  called upon when a “character”  is needed for a print ad, TV spot or special event. Chuck once played a mouse for a computer-company  client’s open house, in the days when computer “mice” were new. That should tell you Chuck has been  with Hodges for quite some time (over 35 years, in fact). His experience in every aspect of  agency operation is a tremendous asset. His special areas of expertise include developing and  producing radio and TV spots and overseeing photo shoots. As proofreader supreme, his eagle eye  also helps ensure “quality control.”

Eileen Moore, Production Manager

060eileenEileen’s 13 years in the U.S. Army as a signal/communications specialist prepared her well for the high-energy, communications-oriented position she holds. As Production Manager, she is responsible for developing job estimates, overseeing the production of printed materials, print ads and electronic advertising, managing project workflow, and ensuring quality control.  Along with her expertise, Eileen’s exceptional organizational skills and ability to “harmoniously” take charge help make sure jobs at Hodges are done right and done on time!  Her private sector experience includes 13 years in the printing business and five years in the retail and restaurant sectors. And she’s a veteran of Desert Storm. Ask Eileen about her “hobbies,” and she’ll tell you her current focus is on getting her youngest (of four children) ready for college in the fall. She’s also skilled at DYI projects, capable of everything from redecorating to home and car repairs. “Best friends” at home include two Finnish Reindeer Herders.

Jerri Allison, Senior Art Director

Don’t let Jerri’s quiet manner and petite stature fool you. When it comes to exquisite layout and  design, her talent looms large and loud. She’s tenacious when it comes to pleasing clients. If someone  “tears up her playhouse” (that’s Tennessee talk, folks, for  shooting down an idea), she’s right back at it  till she creates something that satisfies the client as well as her uncompromising standards for crisp design – and design that “delivers” the desired marketing results. Jerri has done it all – from beautiful annual reports (sometimes we wonder, how does she keep coming up with something  fresh?!), to ads that stand out, to story-boarding TV spots and… well, you name it, she’s done it  (well)!  Her flair for the imaginative comes in handy when she’s tasked with something unique, such  as designing/arranging sets, props and “dress” for TV and videos.

Pat Mingle, Senior Account Executive, “Part-time Extraordinaire”

DSC_0014PAT Pat takes above-and-beyond to an art form. As part of her efforts to truly understand her clients’  business, we found her in some pretty unusual places. Like the “passenger” seat of a race car. Or a college classroom studying welding techniques. Now that she has one foot (plus assorted toes and fingers) in retirement, she’s still going out of her way to please clients. Pat’s stayed on with Hodges to oversee the marketing needs of  Fayetteville’s municipal utility company, as their trusted, long-time account executive. We’re also happy to have Pat in the bullpen so we can “tap” her knowledge and experience, especially for the industrial clients we currently serve.

Marcy Miller, Director of Marketing Services

DSCN3030Marcy

People say, “The third time’s a charm.” Well, that’s what it is for Marcy Miller. She originally joined  the team in 2000 as Media Director. Later, after adding an MBA to her BS in Business Management &  Marketing from NC State, her role at Hodges expanded to include new business development. Then …  she got married, moved to Virginia, continued to hone her agency marketing skills, took a successful  “agency hiatus” opening and operating her own gift boutique. And, had a son. When a job opportunity  for Marcy’s husband cropped up in NC, she and her family jumped at the chance to come home.  Hodges pounced, too … on the opportunity to have her back. Marcy helps clients get the most reach  and “recognition” for their media budget by researching, planning, negotiating and executing strategic  media buys. She also lends her marketing expertise to provide client account service when needed.

Colette Moore, Copywriter

If you want your words’ worth, Hodges Associates is the place to come, thanks to this copy craftsman. With a broad background in marketing and communications, Colette’s strong suit is the ability to combine exceptional insight and marketing savvy with creative talent and a flair for language that fuels advertising success. Speaking of language, her intriguing past includes living in Chile as an exchange student, earning a Spanish-major degree from Middlebury College, and working for several years in Rome (that’s Roma, amici), while her husband attended medical school. Colette is always up to the challenge, whether it’s creating technical materials, working with industrial clients, writing powerful PR or developing cutting edge creative campaigns.
